Special post-secondary programs

Mitacs offers unique research and training programs in partnership with companies, government, and the education sector.

  • Accelerate
    Graduate-student led industrial research and developmentinternships allow students to transfer their skills from theory to real-world application, while companies gain a competitive advantage by accessing high-quality research expertise.
  • Elevate
    Supports recent PhD graduates to work on a joint industry-academia research project for two years. The training program post-doctoral fellows includes class-room instruction and on-site learning.
  • Globalink
    Top international students undertake a summer research project under the supervision of a Canadian university faculty member, meet with local entrepreneurs and business leaders and build their professional skills and network. A participant's experience is further enriched with the guidance of a graduate student mentor and a host of meaningful educational and social experiences during their stay.

    Trains graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in essential interpersonal, project management and entrepreneurial skills required for them to succeed in their future career.
